Cette vidéo fait partie de la série Storming Juno

Storming Juno is a docu-drama about the Canadian Forces landing at JUNO beach on June 6, 1944. Our story is told from the point of view of three young soldiers who participate in the first wave of the attack:

Paratrooper Corporal Dan Hartigan of "C" Company, First Canadian Parachute Battalion, who parachutes in behind enemy lines just after midnight and is among the very first Allied soldiers to see combat on D-Day.

Lieutenant Bill Grayson of the Regina Rifles, who leads one of the first infantry platoons to land on the beach, directly into the line of fire; and tank Sergeant Leo Gariepy who launches a top secret "DD" Sherman into the heavy seas two miles off shore and is the first in his squadron to make the beach.

Each soldier tells his own story as a real-time experience of the day as he crosses the English Channel, lands on enemy territory and goes into battle. For all three this is their first time in combat and, as members of the first assault wave, their units suffer the highest casualties of the day. However, against incredible odds, each of these three men will manage to complete his mission. How they do it helps to explain why the Canadians landing on JUNO beach would be the most successful landing of them all. On tath day, our troops pushed further into France than any other Allied army.
