House Painting (Segment)

De la série « Driving Force »

After trying a variety of careers, Ann Jobin settled on one that that gave her a satisfactory steady income, regular hours and the opportunity to do work she enjoyed: painting the interiors of clients' homes. This field entails understanding the nature of the surface to be painted - wood, plaster, metal or concrete – and also the capabilities of the various paint products.

This is why she also attends l'École des métiers et occupations de l'industrie de la construction de Québec. As well as basic applications, teacher Jacques Vaillancourt explains that students learn such techniques as faux-finishes and the esthetics of color harmonies and triads. While some people consider painting to be a "man's trade", Ann has worked hard to gain a good reputation in her work milieu.
